I quite enjoyed this terrific interview. Very much agree with Matthew's comment about historical fiction that he values "story over history and authenticity over accuracy." It's quite difficult to be completely accurate when one wasn't actually there, whether the year was 1633 or 633. And that's quite a wicked-looking seax!
