Joy or Sex?

Blessed ones,
Dr Monk has written two chapters in the new book you see above. These are:
6. Bedship and Sex-Play: Sex and Sensuality in Early Medieval England
10. Sensing Joy in Early Medieval England: Reconstructing Acts of Rejoicing in the Harley Psalter
The book is available at Liverpool University Press.
As you will see, when you follow the link, the book requires that you sell one of your horses (or children) in order to be able to afford it.
So, out of the kindnest of my humble heart, I have been thinking that I might provide readers with my own take on Dr Monk's work. But I need to know which I should start with first:
Joy or sex? Please leave your comments below.

Always start with sex, you have to grab the audience’s attention. Game Of Thrones started with nudity and sex scenes in the first series and once it gained a large following they concentrated More on the story in the following series.

Bless you, Geoffrey of Diplock, but what is this game of thrones you speak of? It sounds like something a good monk should steer clear of. Thank you for your comment, however, it is helpful.

Joy, please. Sex is iffy, in my experience .... :-)

Bless you, Kay (son of Tomlin?). Iffy is probably how I would describe Dr Monk's chapter on sex. Some of it will make us blush, that's for sure, but all of it is an analysis of texts and artwork that monk-scribes/artists have given us. So what can I say?

Joy first and foremost.
We could do with a little more of that.

Blessed Mariana, thank you. It seems like joy may be winning out. Though as I said to someone on the Facebook machine, there is much frivolity in Dr Monk's chapter on the subject, so please be prepared for such wayward things as dancing and music.

Apologies, I spelt your name wrong. Marianna, with two 'n's.
