Blessed readers, The other Monk has been working hard; I only hope he continues in this godly course; and he has told me that the good people at Rochester Cathedral have begun to publish online his new translations of documents from the marvellous Textus Roffensis, the most important medieval collection of early English laws. Many thanks have wended their way to the industrious Jacob Scott, Director of the Rochester Cathedral Research Guild, which is publishing all the translations as and when Dr Monk releases them. The first translations released span the mid-tenth to the early part of the eleventh centuries, including King Edmund's First Code, Ethelred the Unready's Woodstock Code, and several anonymous laws about oaths, ordeals, the king's peace, and corpse robbery. My older translations of texts from Textus Roffensis for Rochester Cathedral have now been reformatted, so they are no longer available as PDFs but are in webpage format.
